Valerie’s younger years were spent in the western states of New Mexico and Colorado and then for college and into her adulthood, she explored the east coast in upstate New York, Boston and finally settled down in Maryland. Each location presented new opportunities for her as she became a photojournalist, ran marathons, refereed basketball, and learned American Sign Language to work in the Deaf community. In a charming historical town across the Potomac, Valerie raised three wonderful boys who are now grown and off on their own adventures.
Her greatest pleasure is time spent talking and laughing with people while learning about their lives. At Tarara she will, however, stop conversation to join Vine Club members on the dance floor for one of our weekly Saturday night concerts during the summer. Valerie’s moves aren’t necessarily pretty but she believes it’s liberating to let go and have fun.
Valerie realizes Tarara’s close proximity to Washington D.C. and Baltimore continuously brings diverse individuals onto our beautiful 475 acres to drink outstanding wines served by a great staff who she considers friends. For Valerie, Tarara is the ideal location to grab a bottle of wine like Tranquility to relax, turn-off the cell phone and begin unlimited fond memories.
