Give the gift of an at home tasting! This set contains all you need to conduct your very own Riedel Tasting: 4 bottles of wine, each with a matching glass.
2015 Boneyard Viognier- paired with the Riesling/Zinfandel glass
A beautiful viognier sourced from Honah Lee Vineyard in the Monticello region. Abundant and exotic notes of papaya and honeydew melon. A lovely balancing act of fresh acidity and rich viscosity.
2013 Boneyard Skins- paired with the Oaked Chardonnay glass
This is a powerful wine with wildly intense characteristics. Tim cannot stop talking about this one. It has great depth and richness with the nose starting it off with grilled toast, clementine, straw, almond and butter tones. It is wild and complex. The palate is full bodied and very generous with incredible creamy yet slightly astringent mouthfeel.
2014 Boneyard Unrefined Red- paired with the Old World Pinot Noir glass
A pretty and fairly complex Boneyard Red. The fruit is definitely more punctuated in this vintage with only some undertones of herbal characters. The nose shoots out with strawberry, plum and cassis notes before showing some meatiness from the small amount of Syrah and Tannat. The palate is soft and approachable.
2014 Boneyard Cabernet Sauvignon- paired with the Merlot/Cabernet glass
Certainly the most elegant and transparent of our Boneyard Cabernet’s to date. The fruit is the showcase here with barrels taking a backseat. Loads of raspberry meets cassis fruit all held together with firm but silky tannins and acidity adding nice cut. This is a tremendously aromatic Cabernet that is beautiful today but will reward some time in the cellar.
A note about the Riedel stemware:
This tasting set contains 4 pieces of RIEDEL Veritas: Oaked Chardonnay, Riesling/Zinfandel, Old World Pinot Noir and Merlot/Cabernet. The unadorned machine-made wine glass tasting set of the light-weight glass collection RIEDEL Veritas should be part of the basic equipment of every sophisticated wine lover. The bowl of the Oaked Chardonnay glass allows space for the rich bouquet to develop its superbly diverse range of aromas, while minimizing the risk of becoming over concentrated. The shape of the Riesling/Zinfandel glass best supports the characteristic bouquet of fruity red wines or floral white wines – aroma and taste are dominated by fermented grape juice and the flavor of yeast. The Old World Pinot Noir glass supports peatiness flavor and the taste of plum of these sensual red wines. The shape of the Merlot/Cabernet glass showcases the majestically structured red wines in all their complexity and finesse.
