Boneyard Club Membership

Be one of the cool kids and get in the club today!

Description:
The Boneyard Wine Club ensures that each member is able to secure even the rarest of wines that are produced as part of Boneyard Wines.  Each year the member will receive 8 bottles of wine in March for $200.00 per person.  The package will vary year to year as the portfolio expands and we start to develop more of the prestige bottlings that will round out the portfolio.  The price will increase to change annually as some more of these bottlings get added but once you have become a charter member the price will never increase more than 10% per year.  That is one of the perks of getting into the club early.  The prestige bottlings will be true to Boneyard’s unique form of abiding by no rules to only make the best juice imaginable whether it is wine with extremely extended barrel aging, unique blends, crazy new varieties.  All you can be sure of is that they will be killer.  The prestige bottlings will be in the retail value of $50.00 -$100+ per bottle if there is any left after filling the club.  The only way to guarantee securing these wines is through being part of the club which has a maximum of 500 people so that we can do lots as small as even two barrels of our very best for you.

As part of your membership you will also be invited to the Release / Barrel Tasting each March as your wine is ready.  This will be your opportunity to hang out with the winemaking team, ask some questions, taste your new wines and even taste some of the wines that will be coming in the next few years.  This will always be held on the fourth Saturday of March.
The wine selection for the 2014 release:
Unrefined Red 2012 – Still in barrel finishing its elevage but the blend of 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Mourvedre, 18% Dornfelder, 10% Cabernet Franc and 4% Merlot is simply insane.  The 2012 vintage has created some of the most complex wines that Virginia has seen with a balance second to none.  They are wines of incredible purity that will be incredible out of the gate but also develop further with some longer term aging.  This Unrefined Red is medium bodied but incredibly intense aromatically.  This is a wine to watch and could certainly be looked at as one of the best values you will find next year.  Retail Price $15.00
Unrefined White 2013 – Well…we can’t really tell you too much yet since the grapes will start being harvested in about two weeks.  The vine looks great though. J  If disaster happens to strike (and it better not) then this wine will be replaced with the 2011 that we will hold back for this purpose. Retail Price $15.00
Unrefined Rose 2012 – Certainly a unique and intriguing Rose.  This not only breaks the rules of convention with Rose.  It picked up the book, threw it in a mud puddle and stomped on it while belting out a hackle-like laugh.  Barrel fermented and aged primarily Cabernet Franc with some Merlot and Syrah this Rose is bigger, rounder and more complex than what you might expect.  The wine had lees stirring every other week and went through full malo-lactic fermentation.  Really it was a very Burgundian approach to making Rose.  What’s that you say?  They don’t make Rose in Burgundy!  I told you, no rules.  Retail Price $20.00
Chardonnay 2013 – Much like the Unrefined White we can’t tell you too much because the grapes are basking in the sunshine right now.  This wine will be a predominately unoaked Chardonnay but with full malo-lactic fermentation.  The idea is to aim at a creamy mouth feel but with all the fresh and vibrant fruit of the Chardonnay without being masked by oak.  It will be great for summer sipping.  Retail Price  $20.00
Cabernet Franc 2012 – Like pure velvet from grapes grown exclusively on the Hill Block of Nevaeh Vineyard.  While we plan on expanding our Cabernet Franc offering in the future this production was limited to only 2 barrels (50 cases) as a teaser to show you what we are all about.  Massive aromatics of violets, plums and raspberry this is pure Cab Franc through and through.  While we like to break rules, this time we felt why mess with a good thing.  The wine is still in barrel finishing its elevage but man it is good.  Retail Price $25.00
Cabernet Sauvignon 2011 – This wine is one of the best wines I have tasted from the 2011 vintage.  The grapes are 100% from Tranquility Vineyard in Purcellville and show what great slope and meticulous vineyard management can do for a wine.  We kept yields low and were able to get longer hang times on this fruit than anything else.  The result is a medium bodied Cabernet that is loaded with character.  It is classic cooler climate Cabernet and one of my favorites ever from Virginia with Black Currant, licorice and minty characters with a solid core of silky tannins and balanced acidity.  It is all there now but it will be even better in a couple more years.  Retail Price $25.00
Bad to the Bone Bubbles – A traditional method sparkler with anything but a traditional champagne attitude.  This is all about bringing bubbles to the table.  We don’t want you to wait until New Year’s Eve or some celebratory occasion.  We want you to enjoy this fruit foreword bottle of awesomeness on Tuesday because you had a rough day and this will make it all better.  Come on now, have you ever sipped a bottle of bubbles and not smiled?  This is 100% Chardonnay that spent 3.5 years on the lees before disgorging and turning into one of the tastiest wines ever to have a Dinosaur-tractor on the label.  Oh, you don’t know of many of these?  Well just trust us then.  It is delicious.  $35.00
Syrah 2010 – Prestige Bottling – This is one of the biggest, juiciest and most complex wines I have tasted in a long time.  Co-fermented with 6% Viognier this Syrah is over the top good.  Everything that has been done with it has been done with patience and a vision of making the best Syrah and hopefully one of the best wines ever made on the East Coast, if not beyond.  Coming from an ultra-ripe vintage the Syrah shows gobs of black and blue fruit like blueberries, plums, and blackberries but is balanced with classic Syrah savory notes of smoky bacon and is carried with subtle cedar tones from the extended barrel aging.  After 36 months the wine is still in barrel awaiting the New Year when we plan to get it ready for this package.  All we can say is WOW!!!  Great now, likely even better in a decade.  Only 50 cases made.  Retail Price $100.00
