2005 Merlot – In French the word Merlot means "young blackbird," probably alluding to the grape's beautiful, dark, red-blue color. Eight months in French barrels have softened and aged this full flavored red wine. Black cherries and spice are balanced with firm, supple tannins. $19
2005 Cabernet Franc – After first planting this varietal in 1989 to complement the blends of our other Bordeaux varietals, we discovered that Cabernet Franc thrives in Virginia’s red clay. This bordeaux grape is rapidly gaining recognition as Virginia’s red. The explosive dark fruit and spice flavors make it a must with grilled portabella mushrooms or barbecued pork. $22

2005 Cabernet Sauvignon – Cabernet Sauvignon makes the most dependable candidate for aging, evolving into a truly great wine. With age, its distinctive black currant aroma can develop bouquet nuances of cedar, violets, leather, or cigar box and its typically tannic edge may soften and smooth considerably. This Cabernet Sauvignon has aromas of cherry, plum, cinnamon and black pepper. It is a full-bodied wine with a long spicy finish. $22
