Saturdays and Sundays enjoy a tasting of three wines paired beautifully with local artisan cheeses and charcuterie. During the warmer months we'll have a tent set up on the Lakeside Lawn so that you can enjoy a peaceful afternoon, relaxing by Shadow Lake.
Nevaeh White 2010 – a tasty blend of Chardonnay and Viognier from our favorite vineyard site! A truly exotic wine loaded with richness and complexity. The nose of this golden wine shoots from the glass with Persimmon, Asian Pear, anise and floral notes leading to a full and round palate packed with intense stone fruit and sweet asian spice before having a long bright finish. Enjoy this wine with the Meadow Creek Dairy Grayson. The texture is supple and fudgy, becoming silky as it warms; this cheese is slightly sweet, with grassy and nutty notes.
Rose 2011- Easily the lightest and most classic style of Rose we have made to date. Pale salmon color, with good intensity of fruit and some herbal tones on the nose. The palate is light, crisp and clean with plentiful fruit making the wine a classic for sipping through the spring and summer of 2012. The lively acidity keeps everything fresh today, but this wine is meant to be consumed in its youth. This wine is delicious with the Cherry Glen Goat Cheese. The hand-dipped fresh chevre is soft (similar to cream cheese) but has a distinctive tangy flavor.
Long Bomb Edition 3 2009 - A supple wine with bright red berry fruit and floral notes on the nose and the palate. The acidity comes through representing what the 2009 vintage was all about and leading to a long fruit forward finish. This wine pairs wonderfully with the Chapels Country Creamery Talbot Reserve Cheddar. It’s nice and sharp!
