IMPORTANT CHANGES AT TARARA WINERY
Primary Attention Transitions to Vineyard and Concerts. Tasting Room and Winery Operation Close.

May 20, 2021 – After 32 years as one of the leaders in the Virginia Wine Industry and one of the original wineries in Loudoun County, Tarara will shift its focus toward cultivating its vineyard and expanding upon the concert series. However, the tasting room and winery operation will remain closed. Tarara is deeply proud of the legacy it leaves behind, and through the dedication of Tarara’s founders, Margaret and Whitie Hubert, and the relationships they built with their loyal customers and dedicated employees, Tarara wishes to thank everyone for an amazing 32 years at the winery.

Like many in the wine industry, Tarara is undergoing a significant transition after a year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hubert family is hopeful and excited about the new opportunities and for the role Tarara will continue to play in the wine industry. Tarara has never been the one to confine themselves to the traditional rules and have always been cutting edge.

“What my parents built at Tarara was innovative at the time, but now it’s time to evolve and take things in a different and progressive direction. We are exploring ways to be innovative in our vineyards and these new opportunities will help us do that,” said Steve Hubert, Tarara Winery LLC.

Following in the entrepreneurial footsteps of Margaret and Whitie Hubert’s legacy, Tarara will cast a long vision of what is viticulturally possible in the region by taking its vineyard to the next level in biodynamic and viticultural practices through the creation of strategic partnerships with True Algae and The Wine Collective.

With True Algae, Tarara will be testing TrueSolum, an organic soil amendment micronutrient mix, to analyze the impact of an algae-based product on the microbiome of vineyard soils and terroir and assess the reduction of organic canopy disease. More information can be found at www.truealgae.com.

Tarara has also joined one of the most exciting new projects in the wine industry, The Wine Collective, located in Baltimore, MD. The Wine Collective is a full urban winery and group of growers and makers from the mid-Atlantic region that come together under one roof to create local, quality-driven, and sustainable wines and vermouths. Customers can continue to drink wines made from Tarara’s grapes by visiting The Wine Collective’s tasting room and Pintxo bar in Baltimore, by ordering online or joining the wine club at www.winecollective.vin.

Bow Tie Strategies will continue to produce and manage the Tarara Summer Concert Series. “We want to ensure everyone that the Tarara Summer Concert Series will be the same and will not change. The concert series that everyone looks forward to each year with great anticipation, the awesome lineup of bands, food trucks, wines, dancing, family and friends, laughs, all the things, will remain. We’ve missed everyone and are ready to Rock the Vineyard,” said Rusty Foster, President, Bow Tie Strategies. Bow Tie has produced and managed the Tarara Summer Concert Series since 2017.
